ETN Global, together with IGTC-27 Conference Advisory Board, has opened the Call for Papers for its 13th International Gas Turbine Conference (IGTC), taking place in Brussels on 13–14 October 2027 under the theme “Powering the Energy Transition with Reliable, Flexible and Sustainable Turbomachinery”.
Researchers, engineers, operators and industry experts are invited to contribute to the IGTC-27 technical programme by submitting abstracts for technical papers, review papers and case studies addressing the challenges and priorities of the energy and turbomachinery user community.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 12 December 2026.
Connecting technical developments with user priorities
IGTC is ETN Global’s biennial international conference, bringing together the turbomachinery user community, OEMs, suppliers and service providers, universities and R&D institutes, consultancies and policymakers.
The conference combines parallel technical sessions, focused on recent technology developments and innovative solutions, with keynote and panel sessions examining the wider strategic, market and policy environment for the energy transition.
This combination was central to IGTC 2025, where technical sessions covered areas including operational flexibility, hydrogen combustion and field experience, alternative fuels, advanced component design and CO₂ technologies. These ran alongside keynote discussions addressing energy markets and policy, user priorities, OEM technology roadmaps and the practical challenges of delivering the energy transition.
For IGTC 2027, ETN Global is once again looking for technical contributions that can bring new knowledge, practical experience and technology developments into this wider industry discussion.
What topics are we looking for?
The IGTC-27 Call for Papers is structured around five key areas, reflecting challenges expressed by users and gathered through ETN Global’s High-Level User Meeting:
- Decarbonisation and emissions reduction
- Operational optimisation, energy system integration and digitalisation
- Decarbonisation through energy efficiency
- Product sustainability
- Economic, market, policy and social aspects
The scope includes hydrogen and alternative fuels, CCS integration, operational flexibility, hybrid solutions and energy storage, digital twins and AI, advanced cycles, waste heat recovery, condition-based and predictive maintenance, component life extension, novel manufacturing and repair methods, as well as the economic, regulatory and market conditions affecting the future operation of gas turbines.
Submit your abstract
Abstracts should be a maximum of 400 words, describe novel and unpublished work and relate to one or more of the five IGTC-27 categories. Submissions will be reviewed by the IGTC-27 Conference Advisory Board, with authors of accepted abstracts invited to submit a full paper.
All the details on format, deadlines and submission can be found on IGTC 2027 event webpage.
